An enquiry was held into the running and riding of MINELLA VOUCHER, ridden by Miss Hannah Welch and trained by Alexandra Dunn, which was soon behind and appeared to be tenderly ridden until making a little headway in the home straight to finish tenth, beaten 36 ½ lengths. The rider and the trainers. representative were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of MINELLA VOUCHER failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated that her instructions were to sit mid division and try her best. She further stated that she jumped off mid-division but quickly became detached and felt if she had pushed the gelding at this stage it would not have got home. She made her effort at the end of the back straight and MINELLA VOUCHER did respond a little to run on in the home straight to pass one horse. She stated that she felt the gelding did not handle the heavy, soft in places ground but she did not report this at scales on weighing in. The trainer's representative confirmed the instructions, and also confirmed that MINELLA VOUCHER was unsuited by the ground. Their explanations were noted but Miss Welch was fined A#140 for failing to report that the gelding was unsuited by the heavy, soft in places ground.

Charlie Hammond reported that KATIE CONNELL (IRE), placed eighth, made mistakes in the back straight and Harry Reed reported that SCALES (IRE), unplaced, jumped deliberately throughout.
