The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Zoffany's Delight, ridden by D.P
McDonogh, placed first, Shannon Valley, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed third, Revolutme, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed fifth and Mass Gathering, ridden by M.A. Enright, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Shannon Valley trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly checked 50 yards from the line
The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Zoffany's Delight, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. The trainer's representative reported that the first time application of sheepskin cheek pieces may have brought about a return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
An extended handicap for two years old only (75 = 9st 12lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 9st 12lbs and the minimum weight is 8st 6lbs
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra for each race won.
