Permission was given for Peur De Rien (FR) to go early to post.

Billy Bronco (GB), trained by Dr Richard Newland, had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared cheekpieces, which were then located and fitted on the gelding before going to the start.

After interviewing the representative of the trainer, Newland was cautioned.

The winner, Accordingtogino (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield Park on 22 October 2020 where the gelding finished sixth of eight runners, beaten by 42 lengths on Soft ground.

Dan Skelton’s explanation that Accordingtogino (IRE) appreciated the quicker ground, which was officially decribed as Good, Good to Soft in places on this occasion, in addition to first-time cheekpieces was noted.

The gelding was routine tested.

The performance of Thomas Shelby (IRE), which started joint-favourite and was subsequently pulled up, was considered.

Richard Johnson reported that Thomas Shelby (IRE) was never travelling and Caroline Bailey's explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Good, Good to Soft in places going on this occasion and would prefer a softer surface was noted; The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
