Permission was given for Min Till (GB) to be mounted on the chute and for NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving Noble Sovereign (GB), placed third, ridden by Laura Pearson, NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rossa Ryan and Meleki (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ross Coakley.
The interference was found to be accidental as Noble Sovereign (GB) had hung quickly right-handed, despite Pearson’s best efforts to correct the filly, which resulted in NIKKI’S GIRL being badly checked and making contact with Meleki (GB) when running out of racing room.
Inside the final half furlong, Noble Sovereign (GB), placed third, hung right-handed, despite the rider’s best efforts to correct the filly, resulting in Meleki (GB), unplaced, having to be steadied when forced onto the heels of Glencalvie (IRE), placed second.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Noble Sovereign (GB).
Following the race, Laura Pearson reported that Noble Sovereign (GB), placed third, hung right-handed and Rossa Ryan reported that NIKKI’S GIRL (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
