P. Carberry, rider of Rich Coast (GB), trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a mistake and lost it's action. D.J. Casey, rider of Ebazziyr, trained by James Leavy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle today's ground. The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Double Irish, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mr Elliott reported that his charge had shown good form in the past when winning a Point to Point and was placed second in a bumper. He felt that a change in tactics today with a more positive ride towards the front, may have brought about today's improved performance. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Rich Coast (GB), trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
