We thought he was a nice horse at the start of the year. He won second time out at Cork but then he lost his way a little bit. He got a bit keen and maybe went over the top on us a little bit. We freshened him up and I had this race picked out for him for a while. He likes cut in the ground. He was running a bit keen over a mile and a half and maybe this distance (a mile and one) suited him as well. It was a great performance today. I haven't been here all week but he went through the ground well today and it seems to have dried out well. They've done a good job to have the track the way it is. It's hard to win wherever you go. We put a lot of work into this horse . we had good faith in him. The little break we gave him seems to have worked and it freshened him up. We might go for the Finale Stakes at the Curragh or the November Handicap at Naas. They are the two options he has. J P Murtagh, trainer

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (100 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 100 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 100 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 100 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
