The Stewards enquired into two incidents of possible interference in the closing stages, the first on the home bend and in the straight involving Bronn, ridden by Mr J.J. Codd, placed first and Howyabud, ridden by Mr B.T. Stone, placed second and the second in the home straight involving Ballyglass, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed third and Howyabud, ridden by Mr. B. T. Stone where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. J. J. Codd stated that there was contact between his mount and Mr. Stones on a couple of occasions but that it did not cost him. Mr. D. O'Connor stated that he suffered minor interference but it did not cost him. Mr. B. T. Stone stated that his mount was hanging and he accepted that he should of straightened his mount and switched his whip into his left hand in the first instance and in the later incident was unaware that Mr. O'Connor was challenging on his outside until hearing a shout. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards felt that while Howyabud had caused interference to Bronn and Ballyglass he did not improve his finishing position as a result of the interference so they made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were however satisfied that Mr. B. T. Stone was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly in both instances and having considered Mr. B. T. Stone's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Mr. B. T. Stone for six racedays

The Stewards received a report from Ms. N. O'Connor, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer that she had observed a tongue tie being removed from Coastal Storm, trained by P. M. J. Doyle, post race which was not declared. Evidence was heard from Mrs. Mary Doyle and Mr. Jack Doyle, both Authorised Representatives for the trainer concerned and Ms. Nicola O'Connor. Mrs. Mary Doyle stated that she had mistakingly understood that a tongue tie had been declared and apologised for this oversight. Mr. Jack Doyle confirmed that the animal had run in a tongue tie and was also of the view that it had been declared. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found P. M. J. Doyle in breach of Rule 194 (f) and having considered his previous record in this regard the Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Rule 14, fined him €500 on this occasion.
