Davy Russell recorded a fine treble at Gowran Park, culminating in victory aboard the Tony Martin-trained Meadows Thyne in the Thomastown Handicap Hurdle.

The middle leg of Russell's hat-trick came in the Dungarvan Maiden Hurdle, where he patnered Brian Hamilton's 2-1 favourite Playboy Luke to a head victory over Glenlo Abbey < Cadspeed supplemented his recent maiden success with a gutsy defeat of Gates Of Rome in the Mullinavat Novice Hurdle.
The Willie Mullins inmate (9-4) proved costly to follow at the start of the season but he was sent straight to the front by the trainer's son, Patrick, and never looked in serious trouble.
Market leader Gates Of Rome gave chase but was under the pump three from the finish and could never overhaul Cadspeed, who stayed on well for four-length success.
Mullins doubled up through Pozyc in the Inistioge Maiden Hurdle.
The evens favourite looked in trouble as Take A Stroll took over from Selskar on the turn for home but Paul Townend keep cool and his mount responded well, going on to win cosily by a length and a half.< Carlowsantana left it late but came through strongly to take the Goresbridge Handicap Hurdle.
Long-time leader Luca Brasi boxed on admirably for second after making a hash of the penultimate flight, but the Stephen Nolan-trained 7-2 favourite had enough in reserve to remain four lengths clear.
