Review dundalk 9th Oct
Ger Lyons paid tribute to jockey Emmet McNamara after he steered Mister Tee to victory in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Star Appeal Stakes at Dundalk.
The juvenile has largely been ridden by Keagan Latham this term but with the rider suspended, McNamara stepped in for the mount.
He let Mister Tee (4-1) settle in the pack as Queen Of Troy made a bold bid from the front only to fold in the final two furlongs.
Mister Tee was just getting going, however, swooping down the outside before holding the challenge of fast-finishing Famous Warrior by a length.
"He's a good, tough horse and he's the best two-year-old we have in the yard", said Lyons.
"It's great for Emmet and he gave him a great ride, I told him to ride him like a proper horse.
"It's hard on Keagan who is suspended at the moment, but the ball hasn't bounced for Emmet in the yard this season so it was nice for him."
Gary Carroll and Invincible Ash (12-1) teamed up to set a new course record in the six-furlong www.dundalkstadium.com Race.
"We have her entered in the Curragh on Sunday, but there has been a lot of rain since declaration time so we'll have to wait and see if she'll take her chance," said trainer Michael Halford.
"She will probably come back here for the Mercury Stakes at the end of the month."< Manx Miss (11-4 favourite) could step up in class following her three-quarter-length victory under Johnny Murtagh /a> in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.
"We've always thought a lot of her at home and we might try to pick up a bit of black type before the season ends," said winning handler David Myerscough.
"We'll see how she comes out of the race before we make plans."
Fran Berry was on the mark with both Virgil Caine (8-1) in the Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate Nursery Handicap and Boo Boo Bear (7-2) in the Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate Fillies Maiden.
He also scored on Sunwise (12-1) in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Package Race.
