John Oxx and Mick Kinane have enjoyed a superb season courtesy of the all-conquering Sea The Stars but Alaiyma provided victory at a much lower level at Cork.

While Sea The Stars is now heading to the breeding shed, Alaiyma enhanced her paddock potential as she secured some all-important black type in the Listed Navigation Stakes.

Sent off a 9-1 shot, the daughter of Refuse To Bend arrived late under Kinane to deny the game Jumbajukiba who failed by a length to make all.

Edward Lynam is eyeing a trip to England with Riobamba after her victory as the 7-2 favourite in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.

A winner at Dundalk earlier in the month, Riobamba had the measure of Silver Shoon by three-quarters of a length in the hands of Fran Berry.

Lynam said: "Riobamba is a tough little filly and her owners are keen to get some black-type with her so she may go down that road now.

"We'll have a look at the all-weather racing programme in England to find a suitable opportunity and France is also a possibility."

David Marnane was celebrating a solid season of work after 6-1 joint-favourite Partner came out on top in the Kanturk Handicap.

"Between Ireland, Britain and France that was my 22nd winner of the year and things have gone very well," said the trainer.

"Partner struggled to get his ground all year but has run well when the ground is good & ndash; he may go for a six furlong handicap at Dundalk next."< Monthly Medal scored for the first time since September 2007 as Julie Burke guided him home in the second division of the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap.

Trainer Tony Mullins said: "Monthly Medal isn't the horse he was as things went wrong with him, but hopefully he can continue to pay his way now."
