Trainer Josh Halley recorded successive daily winners today as impressive debutante Badda Bing landed Dundalk's Put The Fun In Fundraising At Dundalk Maiden to provide jockey Seamie Heffernan with a double.
Backed from 25/1 this morning and returned 6s, the son of City Light improved from mid-field to lead inside the final furlong, quickening clear to beat fellow newcomer Al Mudhaffar by 1.5 lengths.
Halley, son of well-known Coolmore vet John Halley, sent out The Lord Maid to win at Clonmel yesterday and at Dundalk, jockey Heffernan said “we thought he (Badda Bing) would run well, but I'd say he's well above average. He's a beautiful mover.
"I ride a bit of work for the lads and we thought he was ready to start, everyone liked him. I think he's a grass horse, but he was fresh and well. He might just have a bit of class. It was a nice start."
Heffernan, whose own Coolmore employers notably earlier galloped Derby winner Auguste Rodin at the Co Louth venue, was earlier successful on the Willie Browne-trained Billboa
