Polly's Fortune looked a mare capable of stepping up in grade when running out a very easy winner of the concluding Limerick Races On Facebook INH Flat Race.
The thrice-raced daughter of Soldier Of Fortune had run well when runner-up at this track on her racecourse debut last October before finishing fourth at Fairyhouse last December.
Given time to mature, the Willie Mullins trained five-year-old looked a mare on the upgrade when making all the running in the hands of son, Patrick.
With no pace in the race, Polly's Fortune was sent straight to the front but Mullins set steady fractions before quickening it entering the straight. However, it was the ease with which the Blue Blood Racing Club owned mare went away from rivals off such a slow gallop that really impressed.
Patrick Mullins said: "At the start nobody wanted to make the running so the plan wasn't to make the running but we were gifted an early lead.
"She had a very good run here last October and while she wasn't herself in Fairyhouse, we gave her a break since and she has strengthened up. She probably isn't a heavy ground filly but that ground suited her well.
"I'd imagine she'll improve and is versatile distance-wise and could go hurdling now .
"It is great for David Fenton who bred her and pre-trains horses for the syndicate and is an uncle of James Fenton who has been involved in over 50 winners, through syndicates, in the yard. James is a huge addition, he runs a tight ship with syndicates and keeps getting me winners!"
