In the absence of Ben Coen, jockey Shane Foley stepped in for the winning ride on the Johnny Murtagh trained Oujda in the Darley Irish EBF Brigid's Pastures Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) at the Curragh.
Sent off 10/1, the four-year-old who was having just her third start for trainer Johnny Murtagh, was winning over this trip for the first time.
Prominent throughout under Shane Foley, the daughter of Sioux Nation was ridden to lead inside the final furlong.
Keeping on well close home, she had half-a-length to spare over Ano Syra
Shane Foley said: “She ran well last week, we didn't go mad and he told me to take my time a little bit on her. She travelled well and they just quickened away from her, it was probably a stronger race.
“We changed tactics a bit today and rode her forward, she enjoyed it. She's a strong traveller and stays well.
“He liked her last week coming into it and I think she's stepped forward in every way, mentally and she had a nice blow the last day so she was bound to improve a little bit too.
“In Killarney (first time out) it was a mile and she's a strong traveller, she has no bother over six being comfortable up behind them.
“I'd say that's a good trip for her and I'd say when she gets proper slow ground there could even be a little bit of improvement as well.
“She has a big stride and I'd say you are better just letting her use it.
“She was quite boisterous getting up on her beforehand but once you get her going she's fine. I'd say they'll have a bit of fun with her.
“We didn't go mad and there is a strong cross-wind coming across there. It worked out perfect where I was, I got shielded from it right until inside the half furlong pole.
“When you are there on your own it can be quite hard as it's hitting them side on.”
