Geological bounced away smartly from his low draw and made all in Dundalk's seven furlong handicap for four-year-olds plus.
Stall two proved to be the lucky number as he was able to dictate matters along the rail for Donagh O'Connor.
He was still going well sweeping into the straight with the pursuers coming off the bridle one by one.
O'Connor gave him the office over a furlong out and the five-year-old gelding stuck to his task as he prevailed by a length and a quarter.
The winner was a well-backed favourite - from 7/2 in the morning down to 9/4.
The minor prizes went to Kodiac's Back (10/1) who was a neck in front of 16/1 shot Cardigan Street
Handler Damian English said: “He's some little money spinner and is genuine as the day is long.
"Donagh said he knows everything himself. He knows when to fill himself up and when to kick. You just have to sit on him and steer him.
“It was a tough decision during the week whether to use Ana (O'Brien) or Donagh. Donagh had a double last week so I said 'he's riding with confidence'.
“That's broke the duck on him as a man has won on him at last.
“I might run him in the six-furlong fast track qualifier here in two weeks. We'll see how he is. If he was to win that you'd have to go to Lingfield. If he didn't we might think about the Irish Lincoln.”
