The 4/6 favourite Seisai was a comfortable winner of the Bennettsbridge (Fillies) Maiden.

The daughter of Gleneagles, who had been third on debut, raced in a handy second in what was a steadily-run contest before hitting the front inside the final quarter mile.

She soon asserted and was just kept up to her work in the closing stages to score by a length and a quarter from Nectaris (10/1).

Bought as a yearling for 78,000 euro, the Joseph O’Brien-trained filly holds an entry in a Group 2 at the Curragh at the end of the month.

The successful two shades of green silks of Simon Munir and Issac Souede are, of course, much more associated with National Hunt racing.

“She did it very well in the end," said winning rider Shane Crosse.

“She had a lovely run in Leopardstown and coming here today we just had to keep it simple. That's exactly what she did.

“She's a half-sister to (recent Listed winner) Magnanimous, who is a nice horse we have, and hopefully she can go in the same direction as him.”
