Classic-placed Jack Naylor takes a drop in class at Gowran Park today when contesting the Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies Stakes.
Jessica Harrington 's filly has her first run outside of top-level company this season when lining up for the Group Three contest.
The daughter of Champs Elysees has performed with plenty of credit in four Group Ones this season and her finest hour came when chasing home Covert Love in the Irish Oaks.
She was not beaten far when sixth behind Pleascach in the Yorkshire Oaks on her most recent outing and should find this task a bit easier.
She lines up against some consistent performers including Easter who has enjoyed a terrific campaign.
The Ballydoyle filly has been kept busy but has rewarded connections with a Listed success and a couple of placed efforts in Group Three company.
The one potential improver in the field is Off Limits who actually had Easter back in third, when winning at Killarney back in July.
Connections felt a break had freshened her up then so another absence does not look a concern and if she can repeat the form of that Listed success she could be a big player.
The concluding rated race has attracted a strong looking field and Law Major is an interesting runner for Jim Bolger.
He makes his first start since winning his maiden at Leopardstown in June and looks to have found a nice stepping stone.
He beat a solid enough rival then in Monolight and the handicapper does not look to have been overharsh with an initial rating of 87 for a horse that looks open to plenty of improvement.
The more experienced Vale Do Sol could be a danger making his first start since claiming a Navan handicap in style back in July. Barnacle Bill looked a nice sort when claiming his maiden Tipperary in June but appeared to need every yard of the mile-and-a-half trip then so the drop back to nine furlongs looks a concern. Jinsha Lake bids to bounce back after a short-price defeat at Killarney last month but is only a pound better off with the winner Current State now.
