Eddie Lynam ended an otherwise disappointing day on a high as his Elusive Ice took the last at the Curragh, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap, under Leigh Roche.
The four-year-old daughter of Elusive City ran well to finish second on her first two starts at Dundalk before running poorly on her next start again at Dundalk.
She made her handicap debut at Gowran last month when finishing fifth of six behind Artistic Integrity and she was sent off at 5/1 today.
Held up in the early stages she was fourth after halfway and made progress when ridden a furlong out.
She hit the front 100 yards from the line and she kept on well from there to score by two lengths. Big Bad Lily was sent off the well-backed favourite and she finished second under Sean Corby for Ken Condon.
The daughter of Big Bad Bob was available at 6/1 last night but opened on-course at just 15/8 before going off the clear 7/4 market leader.
Eddie Lynam said afterwards: "That's a great end to a horrible day. I'm particularly pleased to win for my longest serving owners (the Acham's).
"Unfortunately Cammy passed away a few weeks ago but I was speaking to her husband last night and I'm over the moon to win a race for them."
