Jockey Paddy Kennedy partnered his second winner in two days when steering 16/1 shot Wild Fern to win the Live Music After Racing Handicap Hurdle at Gowran today, for trainer Seamus Fahey.
Injury plagued Kennedy partnered Do Try Dolly to win at the same venue yesterday and was seen to good effect today, forcing Wild Fern into contention on the inside jumping the second last flight. In the end the pair were made work for a half length win over Colla Pier
Afterwards Fahey stated "(her win at) Ballinrobe wasn't a big surprise but she disappointed us big time in Wexford (finished last).
"We couldn't find a reason but gave her time off, freshened her up and she came back to win today.
"She made a couple of jumping errors and luck was on our side today."
Kennedy, a brother of up-and-coming rider Jack Kennedy, recently returned from a twice broken leg and a fractured knee.
