Immutable (4/1) has improved on each start and delivered on his third run in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over the extended mile in Gowran Park.
Seamie Heffernan worked San Antonio across from a wide draw to pick up the running after a furlong of the contest with Immutable and Gary Carroll settled in second.
Immutable threw down his challenge on the run to the final couple of furlongs, but San Antonio kept finding for pressure.
The pair were locked together entering the furlong pole with the whips drawn as Dark Side began to crank up his effort in third.
It was Immutable who finished best as he wore down San Antonio in the closing stages and went on by half a length. Dark Side, the 3/1 favourite, came through for second as San Antonio (6/1) dropped another half a length back to third.
“That was great and I'm delighted for the new owner Ger Kervick. He's a great patron of ours and that's his first winner, hopefully we'll have many more,” said trainer Joseph Murphy.
“He's a nice horse going forward and will probably want a mile-and-two next year as a three-year-old. We'll see what rating he gets and take it from there.
“Gary said it was a tough slog and he battled it out well.”
Immutable came in fourth on debut at Punchestown before being beaten a neck into second at Listowel.
