Killarney starts five days of racing (first three of which are Flat cards) this evening with a 5.15pm start and the ground is good as watering continues to take place.
The picturesque Kerry venue can be claimed as a British venue for one night only with a modest 54 runners in total on the card, but that will matter little to the locals as they can relax in temperatures of 20 to 23 degrees after yesterday's tension-filled afternoon in Croke Park. Hiawatha a 1.2 million euro yearling who is a full-brother to 2,000 Guineas third Luxembourg, will be the focus of plenty of attention in the opening maiden. His sibling made a winning debut at this meeting last year before going on to Group 1 success at Doncaster in the autumn.
Irish sovereignty is reinstated for tomorrow evening's twelfth of July fixture with 77 runners declared for another seven-race programme on the level with a 5.30pm start.
Dundalk also stage their 'Twelfth' fixture tomorrow afternoon (first of seven off at 2.20pm) while Downpatrick race on Wednesday and it's good ground, with watering ongoing, there as well. It's a mainly dry forecast up north with temperatures of up to 22 degrees and a slight chance of light showers tomorrow.
After a good turnout for Friday's Midlands National card, Kilbeggan race again this Friday and again it's watered good ground there with a dry forecast.
