Trainer Gavin Cromwell was successful with another of his colourfully titled syndicates today, as GBLOGBD Limited's Just Jacob (5/1jf) landed Cork's Mallow Handicap Hurdle under jockey Sean Flanagan. Mephisto s second-last flight fall resulted in Malbas and Figurehead being brought down while eventual runner-up Sequoiaspirit was badly hampered, but closed to within a length and a half of Just Jacob at the line.

Flanagan said “he was unlucky the last day when he unseated and today was my first time riding him. He jumped and travelled, they have gone a good gallop and while I was further back than I wanted to be, he jumped really well and stayed going.

“When Ricky (Doyle, on Mephisto) fell, he idled all the way down the straight.

“He won on the flat in the UK and is sharp. We weren't sure about him staying but with the experience of the fall the last day, he tuned in a little bit more today.”

The GBLOGBD Limited is an acronym for Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying, from The Shawshank Redemption, and joins a list of Cromwell's colourful syndicates, headed by stable star Flooring Porter's eponymously named syndicate.

Others are the Liquid Lunch Partnership, along with the Wash Yer Hands Syndicate, Losing & Restricted Syndicate, Whosehorseisthat Syndicate, Giddy Up Gang Syndicate, Lump On Syndicate, Good Counsellors Syndicate, Running In Heels Syndicate, Don't Let The Old Man In Syndicate and the No Hitch On The Hearse Syndicate.
