Cecil Corbett won the extended two mile seven handicap chase at Downpatrick on this card last year and repeated the feat today.
Jack Kennedy 's mount hit the front two out and stuck to his task up the hill to see off the nearest pursuer by three parts of a length at 12/1. Fenlon's Hill (5/1) kept on in second without reaching the winner while Bosco Di Alco was half a length further back in third at 10/1.
Trainer Gordon Elliott said: "I thought he got there a bit too soon but he pulled out plenty at the end.
"He wins every year and keeps the show on the road. He gets that trip and enjoys that ground."
