Carrigmoorna Queen stepped up on her debut second at Punchestown in December to land the mares' bumper on the card at Galway.
Patrick Mullins exuded confidence as his mount travelled strongly in contention off the home bend. She was pushed along to lead off the turn and was ridden with a furlong to go. I Am Shadow attempted to make a race of it in the closing stages, however, Carrigmoorna Queen drew the sting out of that challenge by drawing four lengths clear to pay favourite backers at 8/13. Runner-up I Am Shadow was nicely supported down to 14/1. C'est Rien took third at 20/1.
Willie Mullins, saddling his seventh winner of the week, said: “It was a very nice performance and she built on her first run.
“The rain was a nice advantage for her, coming when it did. Patrick kept it simple and she galloped the whole way to the line.
“I think she's a mare to go off jumping hurdles now. She has a lovely stout jumping pedigree. She has size and scope and I think she'll go on through the winter. That's our plan anyway.”
