Across The Card Double for Hughes
Anybody that saw Dessie Hughes' presence in Kilbeggan as significant, given that his College Daisy had taken the second race at Listowel, were rewarded at odds of 10/1 about Trimbellina in the Sunday Family Day At Kilbeggan Maiden Hurdle.
Roger Loughran had the Presenting mare in front from four out and she showed a really good attitude to fend off the well-backed favourite, Glaczer Flyer by one and a quarter lengths.
Hughes said: "She is a half-sister to Watson Lake. She loved the good ground, and she hasn't got it since her first run which is over a year ago. Hopefully she'll win another hurdle but she will go chasing as she isn't the fastest in the world. She will be a valuable broodmare and her owner Gerry Burke (Galway man) will be delighted with her."
