Jury Duty goes for another success in the Racing TV Chase at Down Royal today. Gordon Elliott’s 2019 scorer will have to leave behind recent form though.
Perhaps first-time cheek-pieces can spark life back into the Well Chosen gelding and Sean Flanagan will now partner the nine-year-old for the initial occasion in a race. Monbeg Notorious (Denis O’Regan) is a nice second string to Elliott’s bow, as he tries to win his first race since the 2018 Ten Up Novice Chase at Navan. That success followed on from his Thyestes triumph at Gowran.
Robbie Power, so oft the man aboard Jury Duty, has to ride Moonshine Bay for Ann and Alan Potts Limited and trainer Jessica Harrington. The youngest in the line-up, this seven-year-old by Milan is a course hurdling victor. Fine Rightly won this contest back in 2016 and he returns in search of further honours for the Crawfords and owner Patricia Duffin. J J Slevin will take the reins on the veteran this afternoon.
Meanwhile Ned Stark begins for local handler Sarah Dawson and that twelve-year-old will be a big outsider.
