We were lucky and that (luck) is the name of the game. We had a horse (Barra) fall at the final fence at Kilbeggan when he was going to win the Midlands National so it goes around. We got handed a race today but we'll take them any way we get them. We got there a bit soon as the plan was to get there going to the last but what could we do! . Six weeks ago if you told me he'd win three in a row I'd have laughed at you but he is after winning a few nice pots now so it's great. He's probably better over hurdles as he jumps better and we'll mix and match with him now in whatever he qualifies for.

Denis gave him a great ride. He put him to sleep and he didn't even know he was at the races,. It was nice for Caren (Walsh), John (Doyle) and Aidan and Kevin O'Ryan, everyone has a share in him. We'll enjoy today now and see what happens after that.

we were hopeful of a good run but obviously concerned because the trip was a little bit short for him. Davy gave him a brilliant ride, he stepped up going out the last circuit. Obviously he ran well around here before, he jumped great and the drying ground definitely helped. I'd say the last day he would have run a lot better in Galway only the ground turned up soft. Back on this sound surface he jumped well and won well. His jumping won it for him. Everything he does over hurdles will be a bonus because he's a big horse so he'll be a lovely chaser for next spring and summer. Gordon will find another race or two for him before the ground goes soft and then he'll be let off and will be a lovely chaser for next year.

After race at Ballinrobe Tue, 25th Jul, 2017 (1st)
He stays well and he's in his comfort zone over that trip. The owners (Caren Walsh and John Doyle) are sporting people, they like a bit of craic, and he'll be entered at Galway (2m 6f handicap hurdle on the Saturday being a possibility),.

I thought it might have been a tricky enough day. We had loads of chances without seeing what would win. It's grand to get off to a good start. We knew it was a long run to the last and we didn't want to be in front too soon so we are happy enough. We'll keep him going all summer.
