Reports in which Team Of Firsts (GB) was mentioned
Hassett feels the wrath of the Curragh stewards
It looked as if Tim Doyle and Wayne Hassett had teamed up to land another winner when Alfalfa was first past the post in the Tote Fantasy Handicap but it was not to be after the stewards intervened. Tue 31st OctEasy for Alvaniy in Galway opener
Alvaniy easily justified favouritism in the opener at Galway this afternoon, the Kenny Developments Maiden Hurdle. Mon 11th SepWell-supported Dartan scores for Smith & McDonogh
The featured Tote-sponsored 1m5f handicap produced an exciting finish as Dartan and No Say Ever had a good tussle before the former gained the day by a head under Declan McDonogh. Tue 29th MarRecord breaking champ Keane finishes up in outstanding style with 152/1 double
The last two races of a record breaking campaign saw Colin Keane combine with boss Ger Lyons for a 152/1 double. Half-an-hour on from Yaxeni's 33/1 win, Team Of Firsts justified 7/2 favouritism in the Congratulations To The 2021 Flat Champions Handicap at Naas. Sun 31st OctTeam Of Firsts puts it all together
Ger Lyons' Team Of Firsts enjoyed the step up to 10 furlongs with a stout staying effort in Navan. Sat 27th MarHarrington's updated version of Taipan could be useful
We saw a second promising juvenile debut performance on the card when Taipan (7/1) took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over a mile. Sun 01st Nov
After race at Navan Sat, 27th Mar, 2021 (1st)
We’re absolutely thrilled with that. He has a big frame and just needed to fill into it from last year. Sometimes when you get beat in maidens as a two-year-old it’s grand because you have something to aim at early doors here. He’s a Zoffany that goes on that ground. We are going to be taking baby steps with him and we would have been disappointed if he wasn’t fighting it out at the finish even though it wasn’t a gimme with an 87-rated horse in the race. We liked the way he did. Colin (Keane) said he took a big blow turning into the straight and he took a blow pulling up so he will improve for it. No horse needs it that soft but he is a Zoffany that you wouldn’t be afraid to go on it. He’s a good mover for the size of him. He wouldn’t be running on proper fast ground but he doesn’t need it that soft.
