He was good, I was just afraid of the hill here - he travels real well and sometimes just doesn't see it out. Dan was good and positive on him. It is nice to get another one over hurdles with him. He got a fair penalty for being third in a good Grade B at Kilarney and it kind of knocked the stuffing out of us last year with him. He has dropped a couple of pound and that helped him there today. We knew that (there would be plenty of pace) and we thought that we would have something to track the whole way. As Dan said, he would have loved to have had something for a bit longer. He got caught here I think two years ago up the hill, so I just closed my eyes!. It kind of just didn't work out for him (the last day in Punchestown), he missed a hurdle or two and he was unlucky four from home when a horse in front of him missed it and shuffled him all the way back. He had to make a lot of ground from there. The last furlong he just kind of got caught for stamina then. I think he'd get it (extended 2m3f/2m4f) if things panned out properly for him, I think he is versatile enough.

he's good and consistent, is-what-he-is and has been knocking on the door over hurdles so it's great to finally win one. Aine's 5lb in those races is very valuable. I thought she gave him a fantastic ride, when they quickened she sat and waited, didn't get involved, gave him a chance and he came home strong. we ran him over a bit further before so we weren't worried about the fact that it was a stiff two miles here, we were pretty sure he'd see it out well and she rode him like that. He'll probably get an entry for the Friday or Saturday at Listowel and all going well he'll go there.

He’d been working with the Limerick horse (Sequoiaspirit, Friday’s winner) so it’s no great surprise to us. We actually split the two of them up in case they’d end up in the same race in Limerick and it’s worked out well. That’s Conor’s 2nd winner and it’s a great start to his career. He’s a great chap and his 10Ib claim is invaluable.

It worked out great and Darragh gave him a fantastic ride,. He wasn't seeing out 1m4f last year but I might step him up again as he seems a bit stronger this year. We might look at running him in the Apprentice Derby. We will be busy away for the summer, as long as the horses aren't balloted out.

The hurdling stood to him as he fought it out well today. It wasn't the strongest race in the world but it is great to get a win at any level. I'll see how he comes out of it but he is in a 1m 3f handicap at Limerick on Saturday and if he is okay we'll go again. He takes his racing very well and was just unlucky with problems last year when he missed most of the year. Hopefully we'll knock a bit of fun out of it.
