It's been a bit of an up and down season, we haven't got much of a run at it, but this is a nice way to finish it. I was a little bit worried that fitness might catch him out as it is six months since he ran. I’m delighted as they are a sound bunch of lads that own him. He was entered in a couple of races (here this week) but he wouldn’t have got into other races so I had this in mind. He’ll be on the go now for the summer. We said we’d see what happened today but the plan was to go chasing and he could run on the Flat as well. He won in Tramore and Kilbeggan last year before improving a lot to win by 23 lengths at Clonmel and he’s after improving again. He keeps surprising me.

I wasn't expecting him to win by that far and I was a little worried about the ground. I didn't think the ground would be a problem but we haven't ran him on that ground before. It seemed not a bother to him though. We'll try and pick out another race next but will leave fences to next year.

I would have been disappointed if he hadn't won to be honest but I suppose I had in the back of my mind the 16lb (rise for Tramore),. He did it well. He likes to gallop away and Paul said he was idling a bit. If another horse had come to him he'd pick it up again. He stayed the three miles as well. We're just taking it a race at a time with him. The boys are delighted as they are after getting two wins into him. Paul said he would even have more respect for a fence.

he was impressive there - it was his first run for me and I wasn't sure what to expect. I have him a month or so and he came to me in good shape and was working well at home, but I didn't know what to expect. I was happy when I saw Andrew (Lynch) out in front on him and he galloped away and jumped well. I'm delighted for the syndicate (Home & Dry Syndicate). I have no plan for him now, we'll see.
