After race at Listowel Mon, 9th Sep, 2019 (1st)
The owner was pressing me to run him in this race and I said 'would we not keep him for the 0-80 handicap later in the week', but he goes 'Johnny, it's 50 grand!'. I entered in both and said we'd make a decision nearer the time and he had a low weight, claiming 5lbs off him and he is just on the improve and has really hit a rich vein of form. Andy said he travelling along in front and when a horse came to him he felt like he picked up himself, got a little idle in front but he is one of these horses who eats and sleeps at home. Paddy (Woods, owner) comes in and rides him out three days a week and picks the races for him, so it's pretty easy to train him. I don't think he'll run later in the week, he had a hard race there and maybe if we give him a break we might bring him back for something like the Naas November Handicap.

After race at Sligo Wed, 7th Aug, 2019 (1st)
the horses are all running well, there is no bad luck, they are just meeting better ones on the day. Running second then you are going up in the handicap all the time and then the fourth beats you the next time so you finish second again!. They are all going well. I'm delighted for Paddy (Woods, owner). He rode him in the charity race himself and said that he travelled great in the race and would we not try him at a mile-and-a-quarter. It was a nice race here for him and suited him well. He's a work in progress this lad, I think he'll improve as he gets older and he's by Dunaden so he should stay well. He's a late developing type. We're delighted. I'm sure the handicapper will have his say now but I'm just glad he's won for Paddy. He rides him in those charity races and it will set him up nicely. There will be no excuses the next time in Cork!
