the same first three horses came home again, that doesn't happen too often, especially three days later. We were glad to see the rain and I think if it had dried out we wouldn't have turned up. I spoke to Paddy Graffin (Clerk of the Course) yesterday and he assured me it would be lovely and safe. I think we got more rain than was anticipated which was ideal for her. She's a typical Tough As Nails, they like a good dig in it. She didn't travel as well as that on Sunday, she was on and off it on Sunday. She was always travelling well tonight and I was afraid that we were travelling too well and mightn't have much left. She had to battle well at the end and the first two came away a bit. I'd say being wide was a help.

She ran well last year for us in Cork when she came from a similar draw and finished well. We were expecting her to run well and thought she'd handle the ground today,. The light weight was probably a help. I'm not shocked that she won but nicely surprised. She's a full-sister to Nailed On Nina (12th in the 5.05) who didn't quite handle the ground. Unfortunately Peter (Mooney) is not here today as his brother died yesterday. This is a new owner (Maureen Nudds), a friend of Peter's who had her last year. She's a lady from England, who is in financial services. It's a great start for her as it's her second runner. She would be a good friend of Peter and she's taken over two of his horses this year. She's a big Watford fan so she's on a total high after the weekend!
