Feathertop opens her account in impressive fashion
The Jessica Harrington trained Feathertop couldn't have done it any easier when blitzing the opposition in the Gowran Park Racing Club Fillies & Mares Maiden. Tue 17th OctStarry Eyed proves too strong for maiden rivals under Heffernan
Starry Eyed made her vast experience count in order to see off some lesser exposed rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies & Mares Maiden in Cork. Wed 30th Aug
After race at Gowran Park Tue, 17th Oct, 2023 (1st)
`That was good, she ran well here earlier in the season. We were a little bit disappointed with her at the Curragh last time but she just got a bit stuck in the ground. The form of Joseph's horse (Maxux) has worked out well as that went on to win a Group 3. We'll see how she is, I know on ratings she has a bit to find to go into stakes company but we might find something before the end of the season. There is the Finale Stakes over a mile-and-a-half (Curragh November 5th) on the last day. I'd imagine she could stay in training for next year. She's a filly that's really only getting strong now and filling out. She could be a nice one for the early part of next season as she appreciates that ground. We were running her on good ground in the middle part of the season, albeit she handled it, but she really relishes that softer going.
