Short rides out claim on Rothwell's outsider
Adam Short will treasure fond memories of the concluding Barrow Handicap Chase at Wexford today as he steered the Philip Rothwell trained 25/1 shot The Broom Squire to overcome form-figures of 'F00P/00PPP' in a hard-fought win, and thus ended his days as a claiming jockey. Wed 05th AugIn-form Doyle and Enright win incident packed affair
The www.thurlesraces.ie Handicap Chase was full of incident and Stylish Moment (10/1) ultimately got it done for in-form pair Eoin Doyle and Phillip Enright. Thu 24th OctCaptain Cobajay wins well for 'Dusty' Sheehy
Captain Cobajay (5/1) was easy enough to back but continued his consistent run of form by taking the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase under Simon Torrens. Sat 12th OctWell Joey delivers again for Stafford

Simon Torrens sealed a 203/1 double in Wexford when bottom-weight Captain Cobajay stayed on well in the Brendan Cullimore Opportunity Handicap Steeplechase. Sat 07th SepNo lingering from Burke on father's mare
After his mixed double (hurdles and flat) at the Galway Festival, Linger (8/15 fav) looked well-in over fences in the Heinz Pollmeier Memorial Handicap Chase, and would have been the banker of the day for many punters. Sun 18th AugTreasure overcomes adversity to defy top-weight
The Joseph O'Brien trained Treasure Chest defied top-weight in what was an eventful Clonmel Show Sunday 7th July Handicap Chase. Fri 07th Jun
After race at Fairyhouse Sat, 12th Oct, 2019 (1st)
I was humming and hawing about running him because of the ground,. I kind of fancied him because of his experience even though he had went up plenty in the weights. He did it quite well and we'll see what happens now. He was probably the two mile horse in it and he's learnt from his few falls. He didn't jump as well today as he normally does though. It's great to get the win anyway. He's a summer horse and I was praying we'd get another couple of fines weeks but he's paid his way.

After race at Wexford Sat, 7th Sep, 2019 (1st)
He tripped here three runs ago and fell when he looked like he would be first or second and was second in Tramore the last day. Good ground is key to him and we were struggling to get him into races. I was thinking yesterday whether or not I'd run him from 5lbs out of the handicap but I looked at the calendar and there was nothing coming up so I had to run him. Adam (Short) then got hurt and I had never met Simon (Torrens) but he gave him a great ride and the 4lbs was a big help. We'll look for a similar race again next.
