He sees out 1m5f, he sees out 2m. He has won over 2m1f over hurdles. He is a horse that likes to get his own way - he dictates to the jockey instead of the jockey to him. We just play along with him. He was running a cracker the last day (in Fairyhouse) until he decided to do what he did. I don't know what got into his head - he has a tendency to jump a bit right, but that was just completely out of character for him. He enjoyed that today and it is his second win on the track, so he obviously likes it. Ronan said that trip is fine and the way he finished out you wouldn't object to running him over two mile on the Flat either. He's a little bit hit or miss, but he is a very good horse.

It’s great to get that win for him. The race cut with a few non-runners but it was the main two that fought it out and he found enough to get the job done. His run in the Cork Derby suggested he had a chance in a race like this and the slower ground didn’t really matter. He goes on anything bar the extremes. Pat (McCarthy, owner/breeder) likes to have a runner in Galway so we might have a look at a mile and a half race there before going back over hurdles again.

He's a nice horse and he has improved with every run. We knew we had the form in the book to be there or thereabouts today. It's great to get a win, he's home-bred by Pat McCarthy who is a great supporter of the yard. We'll see what mark he gets, we've no real plan for him. He could be a horse that goes over hurdles, Pat will decide that. Ronan gave him a great ride, he could have done with a bit more cover but it just didn't work out for him today. Ronan says he'll go further so hopefully when he learns his job he'll do that.
