I thought it was a weakish race and I fancied Battling Boru well. He may go for another handicap and then go chasing . it depends on how hard the handicapper hits him. It took me a while to get to know him but he is a fair sort of horse.

Maybe the ground was wrong for him at Gowran the last day. I was devastated . the syndicate had their annual meeting that night and it was a very subdued affair. I can't explain what happened then as he'd been working well. He done today what I thought he'd do at Gowran.

He is a good horse but he is very excitable and still has a lot of improving to do. He was quite a late foal if I remember correctly and he is a horse with a future I think. He is from the family of Galmoy by a Sadler's Wells horse so he should stay well. He'll have a break now.
