I was a little bit worried about the trip, I thought it might be a bit short for her. The handicapper has given her a chance, back down to her level. Every time I step her up in class she just gets found out. When she wins she wins impressively. You have to hold her up so when they go fast and she passes tired horses she just loves it. We'll try and find a similar type of race. This is a Newbridge College syndicate for past pupils. They've leased her for the season and it's their first winner. Johnny Murphy set it up recently so hopefully we might get a few more horses for them.

She lost her way a bit and then things started to click again. She likes a bit of space in her races and switching wide. She got no luck in Naas the last day and then flew home the last 100 yards. I’ll see how she is but I’d be half-tempted to run her back quick at Leopardstown next week. There is a seven-furlong apprentice handicap and she’s won twice there before.

She'd shown glimmers. She got left about 10 lengths in Fairyhouse the last day and I thought that was the first run where she was showing she was coming back to herself,. We brought her to Newcastle and there was a false start and they were waiting for about 15 minutes and she totally boiled over. Ever since she came home she's been a different filly, worrying about things and stressing out going racing. She was sweating on us and just wasn't relaxing. She's finally found her way back and she was well handicapped off her run last year. It's great for the owner (Mrs Renata Coleman) who has three or four with me, it's nice to get a winner for her again. When she missed the break, we had to ride her cold and I said to switch out wide and it seemed to work. She enjoyed it today, not getting her crowded and letting her enjoy it. She's in again on Thursday (here) and we might run her back again if the ground is okay.

We liked her in the spring, she tweaked something at the back of her knee the last day and that's why she hasn't run for two months,. We've been slowly nursing her back and I honestly thought she'd need the run today but I felt she was well treated. Ideally I wanted to go and win a maiden but I felt the handicapper had been generous to me. She did everything wrong in Dundalk and got beat. The form of her first run in Cork wasn't too bad but last time she hit every ridge in Gowran and got totally unbalanced. She just wasn't 100 percent after that. I was hoping that was in her but I just didn't think it would be today. She'll come forward from today. She seems to be getting a little bit more professional. I don't know why she ran with the choke out in Dundalk, she got no cover. We'll find a nice fillies handicap somewhere with her. She seems to stay the seven well and doesn't mind the good ground so she'll probably be out quick enough again.
