Whisky among Welsh Champion entries

Cheltenham World Hurdle second favourite Oscar Whisky is among fourteen horses entered for Saturday's Welsh Champion Hurdle over 2m at Ffos Las.

The Nicky Henderson trained gelding won this race last year before going on to finish third in the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle behind Hurricane Fly before then winning the Aintree Hurdle in April.

Having won his last two races over 2m 4f at Cheltenham the 7yo gelding will be well strongly fancied to complete his hat-trick of wins in Saturday's contest.

His biggest challenger looks to be the David Arbuthnot trained Starluck who may revert to smaller obstacles having running over fences for much of last season.

The David Pipe trained Ashkazar looks to be the only other strong contender in the field to Oscar Whisky.
