Whelan gets dream run on Cappadocia Ronan Whelan got a dream run around on the rail to land the Value Cabs Handicap at Down Royal aboard Cappadocia. John Feane's charge was produced with a challenge a furlong out and soon battled it out with Bien Chase. The 16/1 shot edged ahead in the closing stages to record a hard fought neck success in the contest run just short of seven furlongs. The winner was bouncing back to form having been well beaten on his most recent starts. “It all worked out. The draw helped me big time and I didn't have to spend a penny going around and the breaks came at the right time for him,” said Whelan. “You only have on go with him and he quickened up and put the race to bed. The draw and the trip I got around was a big help as he's a horse that needs everything to go right for him. Luckily enough that happened today.”
