Jordan Gainford came in for a winning spare ride on Derridae in the the second division of Limerick's two mile handicap hurdle and it gave him a brace on the day.
Jack Foley was booked for the ride but was stood down after a fall from La Prima Donna in race four, the mares' maiden hurdle.
Derridae led again approaching two out and began to assert racing to the final flight. A good jump there sealed the deal when the chasing Danegeld fluffed it.
Derridae ran on well to pass the post four lengths clear at 10/1. She was supported from 33/1 in the morning and from an opening show of 16/1.
Danegeld had to settle for a runner-up spot at 11/1, a length and a half in front of Londonofficecallin (28/1).
Trainer Moses McCabe, who led up the horse, said: "She ran well at Navan (last June) but then got sick. I've been waiting a long time for this!
"I'm sorry the owner (Michael Hanrahan) is not here because he is not feeling well. Fair dues to him, he has stayed with me. He's a gentleman.
"She worked well during the week for us."
