The booking of Ruby Walsh on a Pat Fahy-trained runner has proved a winning formula on many occasions, and the pair successfully teamed up again as Head Turner landed the Ballinrobe Race Committee Mares Handicap Hurdle.
Walsh was at his confident best on the High Chaparral mare, and waited until approaching the last before making a move.
The 9/2 chance quickened up well between horses after the final flight, and soon took command in the straight to beat Hurry Kitty by four lengths. Thanks For Tea could only keep on one paced a further half a length back in third.
Fahy said, "If I had a few more horses like her, and Ruby, it would make some difference!
"She'll run again wherever there is a suitable race, on the flat or over hurdles. She is owned by husband and wife Liam and Aisling Hurley, from Stradbally, Co Laois - who are in Dubai on business."
Walsh said, "My association with Pat goes back nearly 20 years. He doesn't ring very often but when he does they are worth riding. Pat was a bit worried about the trip so I dropped her in. She travelled well, and quickened up smartly to win."
