WYNNE INJURED IN LUDLOW FALL

Jockey Steve Wynne faces at least six days out of action after being kicked on the head in a fall at Ludlow on Thursday.

Wynne was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for precautionary x-rays after Delta Georgia fell in the Mills Whitcombe Wines Novices` Claiming Hurdle.

The jockey was stood down for six days at Ludlow and is in some discomfort as a blood clot has developed behind his right eardrum.

He said today: 'I`ve lost the hearing in my right ear and I`ve got a splitting headache.

'I had a kick on the right-hand side of the bottom of my head and it has caused a clot of blood to form behind my right eardrum so I`ve got to wait for it to disperse.

'I`ve been advised to let it disperse on its own but if it doesn`t I`d have to have a minor operation.

'I`ve been signed off for six days and we`ll see how it goes - it could have been a lot worse.'
