A total of 664 entries have been received for next year`s Dubai World Cup meeting at Nad Al Sheba.
The seven-race programme, which features the US6million Emirates-sponsored Dubai World Cup, offers a total of US15.25million in prize money, making it the richest day of racing in the world.
Les Benton, the chairman of the Dubai World Cup Committee, said: 'We could not have wished for a better list of horses at this first entry stage.'
'Nad Al Sheba racecourse will host the richest day of racing in history on March 24 next year and this, along with the prestige of competing at one of the world`s foremost race meetings has lured trainers and owners worldwide.'
Of the 664, 248 entries are from the United States, 143 from the United Arab Emirates with 97 from Great Britain.
'It is not surprising to see the most powerful racing nations represented,' added Benton.
'But another pleasing aspect of the first entries is the fact that we received nominations from so many areas and countries such as Uruguay, Norway and Canada.'
Australian mare Sunline, the winner of the Cox Plate in October, is one of 81 entries for the feature race run over 2,000m on dirt.
Top-class British performers such as Petrushka, Fruits Of Love, Greek Dance and Endless Hall are possible contenders along with Godolphin stalwarts Fantastic Light and Best of the Bests and new recruits Ekraar and Sakhee.
