Venezia registered his second career win and his first on turf when landing the John Lynch Carpets And Flooring Handicap at Navan today, scoring for trainer Michael Halford and stable jockey Shane Foley.
The grey son of Galileo made a winning debut for Halford at Dundalk last October, having been trained in Britain by Martyn Meade but was today ending a six race losing run.
Halford today stated "his run at Leopardstown looked good enough to win this and they went a good gallop and it opened up nicely for him in the straight. He loves the conditions and stays well.
"He's in next weekend at Leopardstown in the 1m6f handicap but I don't think he'll get in and might go to Listowel for the premier handicap there over 1m4f if the sun continues to shine.
"The guys (Hickman and Johns) that own him are based in Singapore so we'll re-group at the end of the year and see what the plan is for him."
