Newbury runner-up Savoir Vivre was today made favourite for the Rothmans Royal St Leger in Coral`s opening show on the Doncaster event.
The John Gosden-trained colt, second to Murghem in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes, is quoted at 7-2 for the season`s final Classic, ahead of 4-1 chance Dalampour who runs in tomorrow`s Great Voltigeur Stakes at York.
Coral spokesman Ian Wassell said: 'The Great Voltigeur looks likely to provide some really strong clues towards the St Leger market, with Dalampour in particular a very interesting contender.
'However, Savoire Vivre ran an excellent trial on only his second start on Saturday against an extremely tough rival in Murghem and looks a leading contender for the final Classic on that run.'
Rothmans Royals St Leger: Coral betting: 7-2 Savoire Vivre, 4-1 Dalampour, 7-1 Subtle Power, Millenary, 9-1 Air Marshall, 10-1 Melikah, 12-1 Quality Team, 14-1 Marienbard, 16-1 Zafonium, 20-1 Littlepacepaddocks, Shuwaib. Others on request.
