Hong Kong Sprint hopeful Perryston View looked fresh and well when working at Sha Tin this morning.
The Jeremy Glover-trained sprinter exercised on his own at the course which had been hit by persistent rain over the previous 24 hours.
His big-race partner George Duffield struggled to pull him up after the work and joked: 'He had his silly head on this morning!
'He got his tongue over the bit and was an eight-year-old behaving like a two-year-old.
'Then again the older you get the dafter you get, we`re both the same!'
Perryston View, winner of the Temple Stakes at Sandown earlier this season, has not raced since finishing sixth behind fellow Sprint hopeful Repertory in the Prix du Petit Couvert at Longchamp in October.
'At home he is very laid back but when he gets somewhere like this he gets on his toes,' said Glover.
'I think that`s good for an older horse like him.
'The horse was a bit stale by his last run.
'I`d put him in for this race but didn`t expect him to get an invite so had him turned away - he`s had five weeks in the field roughed off.
'I think it`s been the best thing for him, he`s now a fresh horse.
'Don`t forget in more than 60 per cent of his runs first time out he has won.'
Glover is hoping for a high draw on Sunday as the horse appeared to hang right during his work this morning.
'He only hangs when he`s buzzy,' Glover added.
'In the King`s Stand at Royal Ascot he lost the race by hanging across the track to the right running rail, so we want a high draw this weekend to get the rail.'
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained duo Daliapour and Greek Dance, set for the Hong Kong International Vase and Cup respectively, cantered two laps on the turf course today.
Greek Dance`s lad Jacky Tervit watched the pair work and said: 'If Greek Dance can put in the performance he did behind Giant`s Causeway in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in September then he will take all the beating here on Sunday.
'The boss was cautious not to send Daliapour to Japan when he scoped a little dirty last month but he seems very well now.'
Johnny Murtagh will partner both horses in workouts on Friday.
Also in action today was the Barry Hills-trained Last Resort, set for the Hong Kong Mile, who exercised on the all-weather track.
Hills said: 'She has travelled well and a little blow will do for today.
'We will do something with her on the grass tomorrow.'
