Sprinting beckons for Primo Valentino, who finished seventh in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas last Saturday.
The Peter Harris-trained colt was a clear leader for much of the race before tying up close home under Pat Eddery.
Simon Double, syndicate manager at Pendley Farm Stables, today confirmed that a tilt at the Group One Darley July Cup at Newmarket was firmly on the agenda.
"For six furlongs he ran an absolute screamer and Pat felt that he has such a high cruising speed, he felt he could have gone even faster," Double said.
"Pat got off and said that he just hadn't stayed the mile and sprinting would be his game.
"The three Group One sprints over six furlongs, the July Cup, the Stanley Sprint Cup and the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville are obvious targets but I don't think he will be going to Royal Ascot.
"He could go straight to the July Cup or we might give him a run first but plans are yet to be finalised. But he's come out of the race well and everyone here is thrilled to bits with him."
Primo Valentino won the Group One Middle Park Stakes on his final start as a two-year-old.
