Treble for Willie Mullins Sizing Tennessee created quite an impression when hacking up by seven and a half lengths in the bumper at Punchestown. The winner gave trainer Willie Mullins a treble at Punchestown and his jockey son Patrick a double. In the familiar Ann and Alan Potts colours the four-year-old son of Robin Des Champs hit the front halfway and stayed on strongly for a comprehensive success. Redundant Man was Sizing Tennessee’s only threat on the home turn but he couldn’t live with the winner in the final furlong. He opened at 11/10 in early trading this morning and was sent off the 4/6 favourite. Redundant Man was returned at 11/4. It was a whopping 34 lengths back to thirdplaced Golanedge (25/1). Willie Mullins said: “He’s another by Robin Des Champs and they aren’t doing us any harm! It’s a French pedigree. “He looks a real stayer in the making and gallops all day. He’ll probably go for a winners race and go hurdling next season.” Sizing Tennessee’s only previous racecourse appearance saw him come home fourth in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse in April. He has been introduced by Stan James at 25/1 for the bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. (Additional reporting by Alan Magee)
