Bachelor Affair rallied gamely to win the day in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Gowran Park.
Gerard Mullins' charge got a flier at the start after being lead in. He relinquished his lead at the second last as Priors Gold jumped to the front.
Tommy Treacy still had a bit up his sleeve on Bachelor Affair, however, and asked his mount to pick it up again after a good jump at the final flight.
He was soon in control on the run-in, going on to post a a length-and-a-quarter success. He's Cool won a bunch finish for second. Talkin' Tough was sent off the 11/4 favourite but faded at the second last.
The race had been decimated by withdrawals before racing with only six of the original 13 going to post.
It was another local training success on the day with Mullins having his yard not far away in Goresbridge.
"I didn't expect him to handle that ground but it's not riding as bad as the description," said the winning trainer.
"I walked it this morning and it wasn't as bad as I had thought. When the race cut up we decided to take our chance.
"He's been a great servant and is very tough. That's probably his last race of the season and Tommy gave him a great ride."
