Tips and guidance for today's Curragh card

© Photo Healy Racing

An excellent Sunday of racing rounds off a high-class and busy week in Ireland with more Group action, competitive handicaps and intriguing maidens on offer at the Curragh.

BoyleSports are offering all Irish customers €50 in free bets and money back if your selection finishes 2nd to the SP favourtie.

Our formscan experts have studied the form to guide you through the feature races.

3:00 Curragh Romanised Minstrel Stakes (Group 2)

JUMBLY can win her first race for new connections having slightly disappointed at Royal Ascot last month. The Joseph O'Brien-trained four-year-old had been strongly fancied for the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes on the back of a very promising stable debut at this track in May. The fact that Ryan Moore retains the ride on the daughter of Gleneagles is somewhat significant.

Tarawa had a couple of these behind her when runner-up over a mile here last time. The Dermot Weld-trained filly had previously acquitted herself well when a staying-on fourth in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

Despite a slight question mark about dropping back in trip, the Shamardal filly is proven at this level. Power Under Me could prove ideally suited to this intermediate distance having picked up blacktype over both 6f and a mile.

3:30 Ryan's Cleaning Services Handicap

The form of the race in which SLIEVE BINNIAN finished fifth here last month is working out really well, with both the third and sixth placed horses winning next time. Given that the Michael Halford and Tracey Collins-trained three-year-old was keeping on strongly at the finish, the extra furlong he encounters here is a major positive.

Mr King has to rate a serious danger given that the Ger Lyons-trained gelding is one of the more unexposed contenders after just the four starts. He got the job done in a very professional manner when scoring on his handicap debut at Roscommon earlier this month.

Eastern Legend, who filled third position in that aforementioned race, has since gone close in a competitive handicap at Leopardstown. Jim Bolger's gelding looks to be improving with racing so has every chance in a tight affair.

4:00 Curragh Michael John Kennedy Memorial Stakes (Group 3)

Not many by MOON DE VEGA's sire fail because of soft ground and indeed she won her maiden on such a surface when trained in Britain. Successful over this trip on her two starts for Paddy Twomey, this race was earmarked after her Listed win at Leopardstown and, although that form hasn't worked out, she gets the vote to continue her climb up the grades.

Goldana, a winner on heavy ground at this level on Irish debut, has been found wanting in better company but should be more competitive in this.

Unbeaten three-year-old Cadeau Belle can confirm Navan Listed form with Cigamia over this extra furlong and obviously may improve again on just her third start while Village Voice relishes soft ground and beat Irish 1,000 Guineas fifth Oh Jackie over a furlong farther at Navan in the spring.

4:30 La Celia Wines Dash Handicap

A hugely competitive sprint handicap and Rockingham winner Harry's Hill has to be respected down in grade off a 6lb higher mark.

MYMOMENTINTIME was third to Martin Hassett's stable star at Naas in May and, after a break, came home strongly when second at Tipperary last time. If getting away from stalls a bit quicker than on that occasion, he can register a second course and distance success.

Sounds Of Spring will have conditions to suit and has run well fresh several times including when a close third at Naas in March.

Shoebox King was a decisive winner on soft ground at Navan last weekend when first-time blinkers had the desired effect and a 6lb hike looks reasonable.

The ground would have to be a concern for hat-trick seeker So Majestic.
