Chris Timmons is looking forward to getting Royal Cave back in action at Navan this weekend after the mare appeared set to score when falling at the last at Fairyhouse last time.

The daughter of Court Cave was heavily supported on her handicap debut when runner-up at Kilbeggan in September and the following month was again sent off favourite when crashing out at the final flight.

The five-year-old has taken time to get over that fall as Timmons explains: “She got a horrible fall and she was very lucky to be okay. It was very nasty.

“We have given her plenty of time and she has had lots of physio and stuff. She seems to be moving well and coming back to herself.

“She is actually up in grade as well. Hopefully, we can get her back on track, but she might need a run just for her confidence.”

Royal Cave again tackles a three-mile stamina test on Sunday and will be at the foot of the handicap in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Hurdle.
